Abstract/Summary:
This thesis presents a way to ensure that soldiers get the boots that they deserve. For decades, the Army has used the one design fit all approach when fitting soldiers for boots. People's feet are very diverse. The concept of adjusting the soldier to the boot is a concept that needs revision.; Rather than attempting to devise new boot designs, the military would be much better served trying to obtain boots from the civilian sector. Use of this outsourcing can help the Army save tremendously in research and development costs.; Footgear technology has come very far over the years and it is time for the Army to catch up. It is better to prevent injuries than to fix one. Equipping those in uniform with the proper footgear is a step in the right direction.
