Abstract/Summary:
This study evaluated relationships among variables related to diversity programs and majority workers, the level of support of executives and managers, and the success of diversity programs and the retention of minorities. The research tested variables significant to diversity programs in the high-technology industry; data were collected via an online survey, an original instrument designed by the researcher. Three hypothesis were tested using a Pearson product moment correlation to answer the relationship questions using a probability level of p = .05. The study found a moderate relationship between diversity programs and the success of minorities, no statistically correlation between managerial involvement and the retention of minority employees, and no correlation between diversity programs and majority male employees acting as full diversity followers.
