Abstract/Summary:
With the continuous evolution of the types of attacks against computer networks, traditional computer security systems based on pattern matching and static signatures are increasingly limited by their need of an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge base.;This paper aims to overcome this problem by making a proper security measure and delivering it to system developers who want to develop a more secure computer system.;In this paper, we first develop a security measure using a software reliability model. This measure is based on the weighted characteristic value (reliability) for each security service, such as integrity, confidentiality, authorization, availability, and authentication, and is used as a design metric for the development of more secure systems.
