Abstract/Summary:
This case study examines the idea of a literacy coach being added at the secondary level in a high school in North Central Arkansas. It seeks to determine what would be required to add a literacy coach to the high school as well as what needs the literacy coach would serve. Using qualitative interviews and surveys and quantitative test data, the case study examines the needs of the stakeholders and the current status of the literacy program at this particular school. By determining what qualifications must be met to add a literacy coach and what needs the literacy coach would serve at the school, the conclusions will provide information to the district regarding whether or not a literacy coach is a viable resource to implement in this literacy program.
