Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this study was to examine technology integration in a high school. The research included investigating how teachers integrate technology in their teaching and professional growth, teacher's perceived needs to use and integrate technology effectively, and how the availability of technology impacts the ability to use, and desire to learn more about technology. The procedure involved surveying, observing, and interviewing teachers in addition to analyzing data collected from the technology reservation system of the school. The results of this study support the idea that teachers need to feel comfortable using technology and must receive adequate time and training to learn how to use available technology in order to be able to integrate technology into their instruction. Without appropriate training, technology is not effectively integrated, if at all.
