Abstract/Summary: | |
Asian American women suffer the highest suicide rate of all races in the United States yet the constant topic in the online Asian American community is the high rate of Asian American women marrying out of their race. The online Asian American community focuses on racial solutions and dismisses gender- and class-based solutions. This stems from the historical notion that women of color who seek feminist solutions as racial sellouts who emasculate their men. Feminism is a solution to both of these problems yet the constant focus is on race and Asian American women's racial sellout-ism. |
