| This Thesis explores a Taiwanese theatrical production, Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land, directed and produced by Stan Lai, in collaboration with his company, The Performance Workshop. Stan Lai is one of the most popular and highly respected directors in Taiwan, even in East Asia. Many of his works express the crisis of Identity of the people in Taiwan. In addition to summarizing the play Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land, this thesis also introduces the historical background of Taiwan, and analyzes the representation of Taiwan's cultural issues in Stan Lai's work. |
