Abstract/Summary: | |
This work serves as a character analysis of Dilsey Gibson from William Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury. Dilsey is viewed in this work from a Freudian perspective, and this work details how she fulfills her id and superego as is evidenced in the novel. She thereby becomes a representation of the ego within the novel and is shown to be a fully-developed and multi-faceted character. |
