Based on the need to determine the health-promoting behaviors of Spanish-speaking males who attended the MNC, a descriptive, comparative, correlational study was conducted. The study purpose was to determine the differences and relationships of health-promoting behaviors according to the level of acculturation. Using Pender's Health Promotion Model and the 52-item Spanish Version of the Health-Promoting Lifestyle Profile II (HPLP-II), 42 Hispanic males were surveyed. It was determined that there were statistically significant differences in the subject's health-promoting behaviors in certain HPLP-II subgroups and significant relationships between HPLP-II subgroups and the subject's level of acculturation. Based on the conclusions, several recommendations were provided for additional study using a larger sample of Hispanic males in various settings throughout the State of Nebraska. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Hispanic, Health-promoting, Behaviors, Relationships, Acculturation, Level | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
