| This study was undertaken to contribute to the advance in knowledge on Ergonomics and on musculoskeletal disorders, in particular it comes to the organization of work in terms of temporal management of fatigue for static work.; The maintenance of the static postures (with or without load) involves fatigue and pain in the musculoskeletal system. To avoid the effects of tiredness, the allowances of sufficient and distributed well rest are recommended. Insufficient of the periods of recovery represent a factor to the development of musculoskeletal disorders. Moreover, fatigue can generate a fall of vigilance which can originate dangerous situations and errors affecting the same time safety and quality of work.; Thus, the objectives of the study are the following: (1) to produce a literature review of the rest allowances for static work, (2) to carry out comparisons between various models which cover the subject, (3) to propose a methodology for the assessment of the rest allowances necessary to avoid excessive tiredness.; Since the majority of the models of rest allowances are based on the maximum endurance time (MET), we analyzed the existing models based on MET.
