This work is a specific application of a particular one degree of freedom six-link geared planar mechanism. A procedure to synthesize non-circular gear pitch profiles to generate any prescribed function and orientation in a determined range is presented. A non-linear relation exists among the mechanism link lengths. A computer program was developed to assist in the achievement of pitch profiles. The function f(x) = 1.5 + ex-2 in the interval 1.35ft ≤ x ≤ 1.7ft was performed. The orientation angle is constant, equals to pi/2. The coupler is always parallel to the function tangency along the entire interval. Other future works are also proposed.
