Abstract/Summary:
Making clean energy has become a challenge for everyone and among clean energy is the use of electric and hybrid cars. According to several statistics, cars are increasingly polluting the atmosphere but the greatest concern and challenge is storing energy in large batteries used in electric cars. Hence the idea arose to study the behavior of these batteries. The storage and use of this energy demand techniques to fully exploit, manage and monitor the amount of power in batteries that affects the performance of electric cars.;There are several types of batteries such as Lead-acid, Lithium-Ion etc. To understand the behavior of electric car battery, one is going to rely on electric models able to manage and monitor the behavior of batteries and to predict and simulate real-time operation. Hence we must consider the phenomenon and electrochemical dynamic of the battery that occurs during the operation.;The aim of this thesis is to study and identify a model that can track changes and phenomena of the electrochemical lithium-ion battery, to propose an electric model closer to the chemical model and predict most of the charge and health status of the lithium-ion battery.;First the proposed model is used for Lead-acid battery to compare the previous work done by other authors and will be applied to a battery of Lithium-Ion used in electric cars.;At each stage of the study, we consider in the proposed model other parameters. This is in order to give more details on the state of charge SOC and state of health and aging SOH of the battery. The question is: Why the states of charge are estimated? Because the electric car battery capacity is inaccessible to direct measurements so an estimate based on Kalman filter is essential to seek the information on the battery at any time.
