The objective of this research thesis was to develop a fuzzy optimization model for the environmental supportive process planning. Environmental impact of the process along with the cost and time was taken into consideration. A mathematical non-linear programming model was developed. The application of fuzzy inference system as a tool in the process planning was demonstrated. The fuzzy model was developed and tested with the data generated. The fuzzy model supports the decision-maker in the process planning with a minimum amount of information required when compared to the non-linear model.
