Abstract/Summary:
The emerging field of nanosciences will provide the ability to create structures with new molecular organization by assembly and controlled positioning of nanoscale objects, such as atoms and molecules. Nanotechnology gives us a completely new approach, the bottom-up approach. This means the controlled manipulation of atoms and molecules and enables to build functional nanostructures atom by atom. As the laws of physics and chemistry permit arranging elements in so many combinations this leads to a huge variety of new materials and products with so far unknown physical properties. The fields of application are multifaceted, for instance material sciences, nanoelectronics, medicine and biotechnology.; In this project, we analyse two entirely different nanorobotics control systems. (a) The control of the working environment temperature for a group of miniature autonomous robots who are able to accomplish operations at a molecular level. (b) The conception of a control system for the positioning of miniature robots, for medical applications at the endovascular level, with a magnetic field provided by an MRI.
