Abstract/Summary: | |
The objective of this work is to design and construct a flow measurement system to measure low flow rates in harsh environments. This system uses a mass flow sensor to determine the flow rates of a particular fluid/gas in a given environment. The Mass Flow Sensor used in this setup is fabricated on a Fused Silica substrate using thick film technology. This sensor is highly sensitive to lower flow rates and hence can be used effectively in the system. This work aims at designing a reliable hardware system which can acquire the sensor's reading in determining the flow rates in any direction in harsh environments. This hardware system is comprised of 4 main parts. They are: Signal conditioning circuit board, Transmitter board, Fiber optic communication system and Receiver board. |
