The objective of this thesis investigate terminal phase optimal trajectory control of a hypersonic missile through the use of a higher order sliding mode control technique. The higher order sliding mode control algorithm considered utilizes a continuous finite time convergent controller that is driven by a higher order siding mode disturbance observer. The proposed higher order sliding mode control technique has been validated via simulations and demonstrated high robustness and accuracy of the output tracking in the presence of the matched and unmatched external disturbances and the missile model uncertainties. |
