Abstract/Summary:
Decision makers are confronted with several uncertainties. Quantification of risks underlying these uncertainties depends in most cases on the gut feeling and experience of the decision maker. Risk modeling tools available for project managers are few and limited in feature.; This thesis presents a successful development of a Decision Support System Simulation (DSS) tool under Special Purpose Simulation platform (SPS). The DSS can be used in modeling (1) decision trees, (2) shortest and longest path dynamic programming networks, and (3) cost and time analysis networks. The DSS provides a unified integrated tool that can be used in industrial applications and for educational purposes.; The DSS models stochastic networks with uncertainties in the realization of network nodes, uncertainties in the length of arcs connecting nodes, and uncertainty in the network logic. It provides statistical results at each network element as well as for the overall network.
