Abstract/Summary:
Inkjet printing, also known as "Direct Write" technology, is an additive, non-contact material deposition technique. It can be classified into Continuous Inkjet (CIJ) and Drop on Demand Inkjet (DOD) techniques. In this thesis, the DOD technique and its application in the electronics industry is considered wherein a method has been developed for printing silver conductive lines on a pitch less than 70 µm. In this thesis, efforts are made to print silver conductors on a 3D stacked die structure. A Dimatix-Fujifilm DMP 2831 inkjet printer was used to perform the experiments. The ink used was a commercially available silver nano ink manufactured by Cabot Corporation.
