It is believed that the robustness plays a crucial role in determining the advantage of biological network and processes; but how to understand and quantify the robustness still remains a major question. We study the robustness of a biological network from a global perspective, by employing a non-deterministic Markov Chain model and explore the energy landscape structure for the network. We also propose to take advantage of the new K-SAT algorithm Survey Propagation to estimate the number of suitable biological networks given a necessary biological process they need to satisfy, which is also a crucial parameter characterizing the robustness of the process. |
