The goal of the thesis was to examine whether or not there was more uncertainty in inter-racial dating compared to intra-racial dating. Participants (N=148) completed measures of self and partner uncertainty in addition to a measure of predicted outcome value, information seeking, and willingness to date interracial and intra-racial targets. The results indicate interracial dating produces more uncertainty than intra-racial dating. In addition, predicted outcome values emerged as the strongest predictor of information seeking and willingness to date potential targets. |
