Abstract/Summary:
Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) applications require that imaging systems be able to gather and process appropriate environmental information to aid in the process of effective decision making. This is the one major reason for the implementation of new modeling and simulation techniques for the prototyping of such systems. For the design of radar systems, advanced electronic devices have been developed to make more efficient implementations of image processing algorithms, and we can use hardware-in-the-loop technique as a methodology for real systems simulation.; This work presents developments of theoretical frameworks for the modeling of SAR raw data through the efficient computation of the point surface response function and multidimensional cyclic convolution operations used in SAR imaging processing and experimental hardware/software implementations of imaging algorithms using recent technology in floating point digital signal processors.
