Abstract/Summary:
Cyber Threat Intelligence is a field with tremendous growth potential. The task of securing systems from threat actors becomes easier when Cyber Threat Intelligence techniques are utilized. Applying these techniques to mainframe systems represents an exciting advancement in the field. Mainframes are often overlooked when it comes to security. However, advances in mainframe security have paralleled advances in Cyber Threat Intelligence. This makes the task of securing vulnerable mainframes easier. At the same time, the barrier for entry into the field of mainframe Cyber Threat Intelligence has been lowered. Mainframe Cyber Threat Intelligence can be performed with minimal investment of capital and resources. The result of this is that many of the most common vulnerabilities affecting Internet-facing mainframe systems are now known and can be exploited with very little cost in terms of time and computing power.
