Abstract/Summary:
One of the main objectives of the antenna system used in satellite communication is to provide high coverage amid any interference. The Multiple Beam Antenna is extensively used in the Satellite communications due to its advantages over other types of antennas. SMI, RLS, LMS, QS and other algorithms have been applied to the case of Multiple Beam Antennas. The QS state adaptive algorithms proposed by Kumar have superior performance over other algorithms in terms of its robustness to the mathematical precision and hence its real time application using Digital Signal Processors. From the results it is shown that the QS algorithm has almost the same convergence rate as the computationally intensive SMI algorithm and provides better coverage than the SMI algorithm. Three different MBA antenna modeling methods are discussed. MATLAB RTM scripts have been developed to simulate the interference nulling using different algorithms.
