The problem is that Darla's parents aren't dead, just estranged. Her mother, a 500 pound Vicodin addict, her sister, who is somewhat unpleasant, and her brother, once Darla's closest companion, all live in South Dakota where they haven't heard from Darla in ten years. The lie follows her into her marriage. Things become tense for Darla when her brother tracks her down and shows up for an unexpected visit.
