This research project examined information communication technology (ICT) use by elementary school educators within the Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA). A questionnaire surveyed Grade 5 to 7 teachers in the CISVA's 40 elementary schools regarding their understanding of educational ICT. A mixture of quantitative and qualitative analysis was used to determine the distribution of respondents across levels of an ICT taxonomy based on current literature. Personal and environmental factors relating to teachers' technology use were also examined to better understand the factors that contribute to this distribution. Last, this project produced recommendations that can further enhance teachers' educational application of ICT. |
