| The difference in pre-season performance variables between freshman and non-freshman division I female basketball players. Olympic style lifts, plyometrics, and power exercises are often used to measure strength and power and combined to improve over all athletics ability and performance. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of height, weight, body fat percentage, vertical jump, bench press, hang clean, and back squat variables in Division I female college basketball players between freshman and non-freshman participating in a pre-season strength and conditioning program. Thirteen female members of a Division I Women's College Basketball Team trained daily in an organized conditioning and weight lifting program for eight weeks. After the eight weeks the subjects were tested in the performance variables and the data was between the freshman and non-freshman was collected and analyzed. There were no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). |
