The mission is to create and foster an online network of independent and student film creators, and to provide the support and resources necessary for those filmmakers to succeed in the film industry. The vision at Haydenfilms is to be the single online resource for student and independent filmmakers, providing them with the best tools, products, and services to showcase their projects.;In 2001, the researcher and a group of his colleagues conceived a new way to enhance artistic vitality of collaborative film projects. Through discussions with consultants and advisors including business professionals, financial advisors, professors of media, and film industry experts, it became apparent that the idea of an online independent film festival and the concept of submitting and viewing films online could help revolutionize how filmmaking will be conducted in the future.;After several months of continued planning and development, the structure of Haydenfilms emerged as an organization dedicated to the support, development of emerging independent, and student film producers of vision. The company was officially formed in December 2003 and launched its online presence in mid-July 2004.;Haydenfilms LLC seeks to target both commercial and consumer segments of the marketplace. On the commercial side, Haydenfilms seeks sponsorship monies from a variety of sources in order to create income, as well as to earn the credibility created through the association with larger, well-known sponsors. On the consumer side, Haydenfilms seeks to market its Online Film Festival to film students and independent filmmakers, as well as film aficionados who come to the site to view films, or to take advantage of the variety of film resources Haydenfilms.com offers online.;The Online Film Festival began nationwide in October 2004 with the deadline for submission of entries July 15, 2005.
