Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether the internal and marginal fit of the zirconia copings generated from a conventional impression(PVS) and a digital impression(Lava Chairside oral scanner) is clinically equivalent.Material and method. Zirconia copings (Group A) were fabricated from scanning stone models generated from conventional impression with PVS. Zirconia copings (Group B) were fabricated from scanning master cast with Lava Chairside Oral Scanner without generated actual models. Internal space was examined under microscope with internal replica method.Conclusion. The marginal gap of zirconia copings from the digital impression, Lava C.O.S., is statistically smaller than zirconia copings from the conventional impression. The marginal fit of zirconia frameworks from the traditional impression and the digital impression are both clinical acceptable. The internal space of the traditional impression group is smaller than the digital impression group but may not be clinically significant.
