| According to the National Parkinson's Foundation nearly one million Americans have Parkinson's Disease with an estimated 60,000 new cases diagnosed each year. Without a cure, Parkinson's patients are given medications or undergo surgical treatments such as Deep Brain Stimulation that simply treat the symptoms of Parkinson's and not the disease itself.
