Abstract/Summary:
According to the National Parkinson's Foundation nearly one million Americans have Parkinson's Disease with an estimated 60,000 new cases diagnosed each year. Without a cure, Parkinson's patients are given medications or undergo surgical treatments such as Deep Brain Stimulation that simply treat the symptoms of Parkinson's and not the disease itself. But that may soon change as scientists explore the potential embryonic stem cells hold.
