In this thesis research on digital control system for Atomic Force Microscope, a FPGA based dedicated high speed digital control system is implemented, to increase the scanning rate to >30 frames per second. To realize this, an Altera Cyclone 2 based development board is used and a custom data acquisition board is designed with a phase and gain detector. A PID control system along with the interface and control signal generator for ADC and DAC are implemented in the FPGA. |
