| View the increase in the number of vehicles circulating in cities today, the use of parking areas constitutes a serious challenge faced by millions of city dwellers. An arsenal of security officers is deployed to control infractions committed by drivers. In this context, we proposed to develop an intelligent system which provides monitoring of parking places. A wireless network based on advances in recent technology has been investigated and developed. It is based on recent and the most recommended technology employed for the wireless sensor networks in terms of consumption, robustness and cost. Firstly, we proposed a system for monitoring on-street parking meters by using the emerging of ZigBee technology. This system allowed us to detect and locate infractions on roads in real time way. Then, we expanded the network to additionally cover the parking block areas. To do so, we integrated the DigiMesh technology which is more appropriate in terms of coverage and power consumption. For either technology, the experimental results show that the proposed system outperforms conventional monitoring system.;Key words: Wireless Sensor network, ZigBee, DigiMesh, Parking meter, blocs parking areas. |
