Damping materials are used extensively for reduction of vibration and noise. These materials have viscoelastic characteristics and used in the industries. Traditionally the Oberst method is used to calculate the properties of the damping materials. In this thesis the center impedance method is used to determine the properties such as Dynamic Young's Modulus and loss factor. The properties obtained by the Center impedance method are used to predict modal properties of bars and plates coated with the same materials and compare with experimental values. |
