This paper mainly explores the measurement methods of innovation-related indicators such as innovation efficiency and innovation heterogeneity by constructing innovation space.Based on the "input-output" perspective,this paper uses the multi-dimensional vectors of innovation input and innovation output to represent the microscopic innovation activities of enterprises.The innovation activity vectors of all sample enterprises together constitute the “innovation space”.On the basis of constructing the innovation space,this paper defines innovation-related indicators such as industry innovation efficiency,industry innovation heterogeneity and relative input intensity.The difference in industry innovation efficiency reflects the difference in the ability of different industries to transform innovation input into innovation output,and the difference in industry innovation heterogeneity reflects the degree of differentiation of the internal enterprise innovation efficiency in different industries.Changes in the relative intensity of an input in an industry reflect the industry's preference for an input.Further,this paper proposes a new industry classification method based on innovation efficiency and innovation heterogeneity,and constructs an indicator of innovation maturity based on industry classification.This indicator is used to measure whether the industrial structure of innovation is optimized.This article uses the micro data of industrial enterprises' scientific and technological activities from 2010 to 2014 to first measure a series of indicators such as innovation heterogeneity and innovation efficiency by industry,and explores the development status of innovation in China's industrial sector.When measuring by industry,in order to better analyze the measurement results,we introduced the Pavitt industry classification and divided the sample industries into four types of Parvette industries.We found the following typical facts: 1.Specialized Suppliers industry has the highest innovation efficiency;2.The innovation heterogeneity with the Specialized Supplier industry or The Science-Based industry is lower than that of the Supplier Dominated industry and the Scale Intensive industry;3.Compared with the other three types of industries,Science-Based industries prefer investment in scientific research capital;4.Smaller companies contribute more to the innovation heterogeneity of the industry,and to the innovation efficiency of the industry;5.The maturity of industrial innovation of Specialized Suppliers industries is higher than other industries This paper expands the research method to the regional level.The research found that: the innovation efficiency in the central and western regions is higher than that in the eastern region and the upward trend is obvious;the innovation heterogeneity in the eastern region is lower than in the central and western regions;Midwest.Finally,this paper studies the impact of innovation efficiency and innovation heterogeneity on production efficiency through empirical analysis,and finds that industries with lower innovation heterogeneity and higher innovation efficiency have higher production efficiency.The empirical results fully show that the innovation indicators measured in this paper are of great significance to the evaluation of production efficiency,and also verify the rationality of the innovation maturity indicators constructed in this paper.
