Is There A "U" Relationship Between Urbanization Rate And Household Consumption Rate?

Based on the economics theory and the related research progress,this paper deeply discusses the influence of urbanization,residents’ income,foreign trade,gender ratio,age structure and industrial structure on the consumption rate of residents.The paper uses relevant data of 30 provinces and cities to empirically analyze the factors affecting the consumption rate of urbanization.On this basis,we will further discuss the similarities and differences of urbanization affecting household consumption rates in different regional provinces.The results show that:(1)In the process of economic growth,urbanization rate and per capita real GDP has a U-shaped trend of household consumption rate;the actual per capita GDP growth rate,the old-age dependency ratio,and the net export ratio of GDP have a significant negative impact on household consumption rate;the ratio of male to female,the ratio of child rearing,the ratio of secondary industry to tertiary industry,and the government consumption rate have Positive effects on household consumption rate.(2)According to the regional comparative analysis,the urbanization rate of the central region and the western region is fitted to the left side of the U-shaped curve for the urbanization rate;while the urbanization phase of the northeast region is higher and better The U-shaped curve;the results in the eastern region cannot significantly confirm the U-shaped curve.By separating the eastern provinces from the urban areas,the same result can significantly confirm the U-shaped curve of the influence of urbanization on the household consumption rate.(3)From the perspective of the age structure of the population,it is found that the higher the urbanization rate,the more negative the population aging is,and the greater the negative impact on the household consumption rate;The expansion of the urban-rural income ratio will make the consumption rate decreased,while narrowing the urban-rural income ratio will improve so that the ratio of consumption,the higher the level of urbanization greater influence at the same time.
