The Influence Of Organizational Identity On Social Enterprise Growth Performance | | Posted on:2021-04-12 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:B C Wei | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2439330623967997 | Subject:Business management | | Abstract/Summary: | | | The transformation of contradictions brought huge social needs.Facing the surging social needs,neither of the government,the market and the third sector has worked.However,Social enterprises can respond effectively to these social needs.Social enterprises have both business and social-oriented identities,and the conflict between dual identities makes these companies vulnerable.However,whether enterprises with dual missions can reconcile dual identity conflicts and achieve dual goal remains an issue which needs to be continuously investigated in practice and theory.Firstly,this thesis puts forward the question that how the role of social enterprise organizational identity effects the growth performance based on a real background.Secondly,the literature about definition of enterprise,the dual attributes and identities of social enterprise,the identity of organization,growth performance as well as social support are methodically combed to clarify the related concepts and the relationship between them.Based on the identity theory foundations from an institutional logic perspective,this thesis constructs a theoretical model and presents the research hypothesis of the influence of organizational identity on growth performance,the certification,public media,and supporting institutions supporting organization moderating effects.Thirdly,based on the social enterprise scanning project initiated by the China Social Enterprise and Social Investment Forum,this thesis elects 318 social enterprise valid questionnaires for data analysis.Descriptive statistics,correlation analysis and regression analysis are performed on the thesis variables with the help of analysis software.The research hypothesis and theoretical model proposed in this thesis are verified through empirical analysis.The research conclusions are as follows:(1)The organizational identity of enterprises plays a role as Prophet on growth performance.Moreover,business organizational identity has a positive impact on the financial performance,while the social-oriented organizational identity has a negative impact on the financial performance of social enterprises.Business-oriented organizational identity negatively affects the financial performance but social-oriented organizational identity positively affects Social performance;(2)Certification and Public media play positive regulatory role in the mechanisms that influence social-oriented organizational identity and social performance.Certification and Public media play negative regulatory role in the mechanisms that affect business organizational identity and social performance;(3)Supporting organizations plays a positive regulatory role in the mechanisms that exert influence on business organizational identity and financial performance.Supporting organizations plays a negative regulatory role in the mechanisms that have impact on social-oriented organizational identity and financial performance.The result shows that two aspects should be taken into account to help social enterprises achieve sustainable development.On the one hand,enterprises need to improve their capabilities to make a profit to stimulate endogenous dynamics.On the other hand,it is necessary to build an external system which is led by the government and social support institutions to support social enterprise’s development. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | social enterprises, organizational identity, growth performance, certification, public media, supporting organization | | Related items |
