Research On Relationships Between Characteristics Of Chinese Passenger Transport Networks And The Macro-economic Level

Transportation plays an important role in national economy and its development decides the development of national economy to a great extent.The economic development of any region and connections between regions are both based on safe and efficient transport networks.Only with efficient and unimpeded transportation networks,the economy of each region can be effectively linked and the exchange of material,personnel,information will be more convenient and fast.Therefore,it is of practical significance to study the relationship between the characteristics of urban traffic network and economic level.Firstly,the characteristics of highway,railway and aviation transportation network were studied and compared.The traffic network models of highway,railway and aviation transportation were constructed,in which 31 provincial cities in China corresponding to the nodes and three kinds of traffic routes corresponding to the sides.The weights of sides were bus frequency,train frequency and airplane frequency between two cities.The structure and distribution pattern of highway,railway and aviation passenger transport network between provincial capitals of China were described by using ArcGIS software.And the characteristics of three kinds of passenger transport networks were calculated by using social network method and Ucinet software.It is found that:(1)zhengzhou is the hub city in the highway and railway passenger transport network and it is in the absolute center position.In the railway and aviation passenger transport networks,beijing is the core city.(2)in three kinds of passenger transport networks,Shanghai and Beijing are the cities with the closest relations with each other.Shanghai is the core city,Wuhan is the absolute core city of the central region.Then the relationships between characteristics of passenger transport network and the level of macro-economic development were analyzed.Based on the analysis of social network,the index of point centrality,betweenness centrality,closeness centrality and coreness were extracted to show characteristics of passenger transport network.The index of gross domestic product and per capita disposable income of urban population were adopted to characterize the level of urban macro-economic development.Firstly,the relationships between characteristics of single passenger transport network and the level of urban macro-economic development was analyzed.And then on this basis,The characteristics of three kinds of passenger transport network and the level of urban macro-economic development were analyzed by multiple regression analysis to compare contributions of each passenger transport network to the economic level.The results shows that:(1)the relative point centrality and coreness of three kinds of passenger transport networks are related to the level of urban macroeconomic development,or power function or linearity and the influences are positive.(2)characteristics of three kinds of passenger transport networks have no significant effect on the urban macro-economic level and only two of them have a significant effect on it.To gross domestic product,the relative point centrality of the aviation passenger transport network contributes more(0.628)than the railway passenger transport network(0.445)and the coreness of aviation passenger transport network contributes more(0.650)than the railway passenger transport network(0.407).To the per capita disposable income of urban population,the relative point centrality of the highway passenger transport network contributes more(0.590)than the aviation passenger transport networks(0.337)and the coreness of railway passenger transport network contributes more(0.629)than the aviation passenger transport network(0.290).By analyzing and comparing characteristics of three traffic networks,the position of each provincial capital city in each traffic network was studied,which is helpful to understand the current traffic situation of the city and provide a certain reference for the traffic planning.At the same time,analyzing the relationships between characteristics of traffic networks and the level of macro-economic development is of practical significance to make full use of the advantages of urban traffic to promote its economic.
