Excessive application of chemical fertilizer is a common problem in China's agricultural production On the one hand,the high cost compresses the profit space of agricultural production and reduces the income of farmers..On the other hand,excessive nitrogen emission leads to the deterioration of agricultural production environment and affects the sustainable development of agriculture.The scale of land management has a great impact on farmers' agricultural production and management behavior.The small scale and high degree of fragmentation of land are important reasons for excessive application of chemical fertilizer.Taking Xihua county as an example,this paper studied the high fertilizer application behavior of peasant household in Henan province,and analyzed the influencing factors of high fertilizer application behavior of peasant household and the degree of fertilizer reduction in different scales from the perspective of land operation scale by means of literature review,field investigation,statistical analysis,so as to provide a multi-angle solution for reducing the amount and increasing the efficiency of fertilizer.The main research contents are divided into the following four aspects: firstly,literature analysis method is adopted to understand related research trends and frontiers,and research methods and indicator system are determined.Secondly,it analyzes the causes of excessive fertilizer application from multiple perspectives,including the externality theory of agricultural production,the theory of production,the theory of farmers' behavior,the theory of economies of scale and the theory of property rights.Thirdly it analyzes and compares the differences between land operation scale and fertilizer application in Xihua county,Henan province,China and the world,and discusses the representation of land operation scale and fertilizer application intensity in Xihua county,Henan province from horizontal and vertical perspectives.At last,we use an empirical analysis of influencing factors of farmers' high fertilizer application behavior based on the micro-data of Xihua county,and further analyzes the optimal operation scale of land and the technical efficiency of fertilizer under each scale and provide solutions.Through the study,the following conclusions are drawn: the scale of land management has a significant impact on the high fertilizer application behavior,and there is a u-shaped relationship between the amount of fertilizer application.When the scale of operation is 6.67 hectares,the application amount of chemical fertilizer is the lowest.As the scale of land operation increases,the application amount of chemical fertilizer will increase.When the scale of land operation is 5.67-7.67 hectares,the average technical efficiency of fertilizer application is 0.59,which is in line with the requirements of "Key Work of Crop Industry in 2020" by the ministry of agriculture and rural areas for reducing the quantity and increasing the efficiency of fertilizer application,and is generally higher than the average technical efficiency of fertilizer application in all regions of the country.The degree of soil fragmentation has significant influence on the high application of chemical fertilizer.The higher the degree of soil fragmentation,the higher the intensity of chemical fertilizer application.The intensity of fertilizer application by farmers with poor soil quality was higher than that by farmers with good soil quality,and the effect of soil quality on the intensity of fertilizer application was the same as that by farmers with good soil quality.Among individual characteristics of farmers,education level and fertilization method have significant and stable influence on the intensity of fertilizer application.According to the results of this study,this paper proposed to speed up the rural land circulation in order to realize the moderate scale management,improve soil quality in order to realize the long-term development of the agriculture,improving agricultural services market in order to realize the service scale operation and accelerate the cultivation of new farmers in order to realize the education degree of the farmer's consciousness and the improvement of policy recommendations,finally realizes the wheat farmers fertilizer reduction efficiency.
