The Impact Of Incomplete Urbanization On Farmers And Its Countermeasures

In many ways,urbanization is a spontaneous phenomenon.It will eventually transform agricultural land into city,which may be the impact of incomplete urbanization on farmers and countermeasures.The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of incomplete urbanization on the farmers in the fringe of sebeta town and the countermeasures.On the basis of descriptive research methods,this study adopts a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods.A total of 117 households were investigated by using systematic random sampling and non-random sampling techniques.The main data are collected through questionnaire,interview,observation and focus group discussion.The second part is from different written and literature sources.In addition,quantitative data are analyzed by descriptive statistical methods such as frequency and percentage;qualitative data are analyzed by narrative analysis.The results show that the expansion of sebeta town has a negative impact on the surrounding farmers' economy and social culture.On the other hand,urbanization process lacks participation,and there is no bargaining opportunity in determining compensation amount and compensation type.The compensation and package measures provided so far do not limit the follow-up and recovery support for the farmers around the expropriated area.Generally speaking,the urbanization,expropriation and compensation programs that may be proposed in the future need to fully absorb the participation of remote areas of farmers,and adjust in kind and amount,including restorative support,skills development training and post expropriation tracking.
