| Most enterprises will carry out exploratory innovation and exploitation innovation in the process of evolution and development. However, due to the inconsistencies between these two types of innovations,it is difficult for enterprises to carry out two types of innovation activities in the meantime, namely ambidextrous innovation. At present, many scholars have paid attention to the influencing mechanism of ambidextrous innovation, nevertheless, its antecedent research is not clear enough.Based on the existing literature, this paper takes the telecommunications service industry as an example from the perspective of knowledge management to study the relationship between the knowledge transformation of front-line employees and ambidextrous innovation, and focuses on exploring the intermediary role of psychological empowerment. This study will enrich theoretical research on knowledge transformation, psychological empowerment and ambidextrous innovation, encourage enterprises to carry out ambidextrous innovation activities and enrich relevant achievements in ambidextrous innovation.Through literature review and combined with the survey results of domestic large-scale Internet and telecom operators, this paper focuses on the theoretical and practical research of knowledge transformation, psychological empowerment and ambidextrous innovation, then constructs the following theoretical models to discuss:(1)the impact of knowledge transformation on psychological empowerment;(2)the impact of knowledge transformation on the combination and balance dimensions of exploratory innovation, exploitation innovation, and ambidextrous innovation;(3)The impact of psychological empowerment on the combination and balance of exploratory innovation, exploitation innovation, and ambidextrous innovation;(4)the mediating role of psychological empowerment between knowledge transformation and ambidextrous innovation. In order to test the research hypothesis, this study selected telecommunications operators as the research sample, conducted field interviews and questionnaire surveys in the sample group, and collected 738 front-line employee sample data from 163 teams. On the basis of well reliability and validity,a structural equation model and a regression model are constructed to test the hypotheses empirically. The results show that:(1)Knowledge transformation can significantly promote psychological empowerment;(2)Exploratory innovation requires more psychological empowerment than exploitation innovation;(3)Psychological empowerment plays a part intermediary role between knowledge transformation and exploitation innovation, and it plays a full intermediary role between knowledge transformation and exploratory innovation;(4)Knowledge transformation and psychological empowerment can significantly improve the balance and combination of ambidextrous innovation.Psychological empowerment plays a part intermediary role between knowledge transformation and the combination of ambidextrous innovation, and it plays a full intermediary role between knowledge transformation and the balance of ambidextrous innovation. |
