Research On The Relationship Between Replacing Business Tax With VAT, Technological Innovation And Productivity

Since it was first piloted in Shanghai in 2012,replacing business tax with VAT has been widely studied by scholars.Both business tax and VAT belong to turnover tax,but business tax mainly collects taxes based on sales,while VAT only collects taxes on value-added part.Science and technology service industry belongs to the category of modern service industry in the document of replacing business tax with VAT,and it is one of the first industries to be piloted.After replacing business tax with VAT,the change from business tax to VAT is bound to have an impact on technology service industry.It focuses on the impact of replacing business tax with VAT on the productivity of science and technology service industry,and explores the role of technological innovation in replacing business tax with VAT and productivity by introducing the mediating variable of technological innovation.On the basis of the existing literature,it reviews the development process of replacing business tax with VAT,the literature on influencing factors of technological innovation and productivity,analyzes the direct effect of replacing business tax with VAT on productivity and the mediating effect of technological innovation,puts forward relevant hypotheses,selects relevant variables and indicators,constructs the model,collects relevant data of 154 listed companies in science and technology service industry from 2009 to 2018,conducts empirical analysis on the data and tests the hypotheses by using multiple regression.Through empirical analysis,the results show that replacing business tax with VAT promotes the productivity and technological innovation,and technological innovation plays a mediating effect in the process.Finally,some suggestions are put forward from government level and enterprise level.Figure 5;Table 12;Reference 60...
