The Research On Updating And Transforming Path And Countermeasure Of Jiangsu Manufacturing Industry From The Aspect Of GVC

Over the past 40 years of reforming and opening up,with the raising economic opening level and the gradual expanding opening scale of Jiangsu,Jiangsu's manufacturing industry has integrated with the global value chain division system deeeper with the advantage of sufficient labor and resources,which has promoted the rapid development of its economy and made Jiangsu a great manufacturing industry province in China.However,the great manufacturing province is not equal to the powerful manufacturing province.The manufacturing industry in Jiangsu is still in the low value-added link in the global value chain division system,and with the increasing complexity of the international economic situation,the gradual disappearance of traditional competitive advantages and the intensifying trade friction between China and America,the challenges that the manufacturing industry in Jiangsu Province faces have become more and more serious.Therefore,it is important to accelerate the pace of transforming and upgrading as well as exploring the path of transforming and upgrading for manufacturing industry in Jiangsu Province.This thesis combed the relevant theories of global value chain as well as transforming and updating of Jiangsu manufacturing industry,and analyzed the real basis of transforming and updating of Jiangsu manufacturing industry.Also,it studied the double effect of GVC on Jiangsu manufacturing industry.It selected the relevant data of 13 cities in Jiangsu Province from 2006 to 2017.And it uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative,theoretical and empirical methods,and learns from Zhang Xingrui's(2011)research method.According to the result,GVC have economic growth effect and low side locking effect on Jiangsu's manufacturing industry.And the influencing extent of trade embeddedness and industrial embeddedness on the double effect of Jiangsu Province are different.Because the double effect can have direct or indirect effect on transforming and upgrading for manufacturing industry in Jiangsu Province,this thesis proposed two paths to transforming and upgrading for Jiangsu manufacturing industry based on increasing economy effect and low side locking effect,and raised policy recommendations for the transforming and upgrading of manufacturing industry in Jiangsu Province from two levels: government,andenterprises.Through various efforts,the goal of transforming and upgrading of manufacturing industry in Jiangsu Province can be achieved and realize the transformation from a great manufacturing industry province to a powerful manufacturing industry province.
