Research On Factors Influencing The Efficiency Of Chinese Commercial Banks' Foreign Direct Investment Under The Background Of "the Belt And Road"

In 2013,China put forward the "The Belt and Road" initiative,which provided the policy support for foreign direct investment of China's commercial banks.However,with the increasing pace of foreign direct investment(FDI),how to improve the efficiency of FDI has become the most important problem for Chinese commercial banks.Because the efficiency of commercial banks' FDI is not only related to the realization of economic and social benefits,but also determines its own sustainable development ability.Therefore,the study of the efficiency of FDI in commercial banks can better help Chinese commercial banks in the international banking market to enhance the overall competitiveness.Drawing on the existing literature,this paper first combs the impact of the "The Belt and Road" initiative on Chinese commercial banks,and introduces the measurement methods of the efficiency of FDI of commercial banks,the influence factors of macro,industry and micro on investment efficiency are summarized.In the next place,this paper expounds the relevant theories of the efficiency of commercial banks' FDI,and analyzes the current situation of commercial banks' FDI,then the DEA model is used to calculate the overall efficiency,pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of the overseas branches of 13 Chinese commercial banks located in 10 countries along the "The Belt and Road",and further summarize the efficiency of the overall characteristics,individual characteristics and regional characteristics.On the basis of this,this paper takes the comprehensive efficiency of overseas branches as the efficiency of commercial banks' FDI,and uses Tobit panel model to study the influencing factors of the efficiency of commercial banks' FDI.After that,dividing total sample into two sub samples: Southeast Asia and non Southeast Asia for empirical research.In the end,the paper puts forward some advices on the investment of Chinese commercial banks in the "Belt and Road" region,in order to improve the efficiency of foreign direct investment of Chinese commercial banks.
