At present, along with a new round of technological revolution, the global manufacturing powers are paying more and more attention to the development of their own manufacturing industries. For example, the United States launched the"National Advanced Manufacturing National Strategic Plan" in 2012,Germany proposed "Industry 4.0",and China also proposed the "Made in China 2025"strategic plan.In order to establish a modern economic system,we must focus on the development of the real economy, vigorously build a strong manufacturing country, vigorously develop high-end manufacturing, and promote the deep integration of the Internet, artificial intelligence, big data and the real economy.Accelerating the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry is the only way to promote the real economy from a large volume to a truly powerful one.It is also a strategic means to achieve high-quality development and a modern economic system, but it also has certain limitations. After the reform and opening up,the market reform of China’s products has achieved fruitful results, the prices of products have all been liberalized, the price mechanism is relatively mature, and the degree of marketization is relatively high.In shar:p contrast to this, market reforms in terms of factors are relatively slow and lagging, and the degree of marketization in factor allocation is still low,and factor prices reflect serious distortions. From the perspective of factor acquisition, the "rent-seeking" behavior of enterprises is more common and has a considerable impact on the efficiency of factor allocation. On this basis, this paper analyzes and studies the mechanism of price distortion between factor market and manufacturing transformation and upgrading, establishes a model for empirical test, and finally puts forward corresponding conclusions and policy recommendations to improve the quality and efficiency of China’s manufacturing industry.Promote the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry and enhance China’s international competitiveness. Some decisions are made and serve as a reference. With regard to the textual framework, the first part of the paper describes the research background and significance, including the research content and research methods as well as the innovations and limitations of the research. The second part sorts out the relevant literature on factor price distortion and manufacturing transformation and upgrading, and related theories, laying a theoretical foundation for the subsequent empirical analysis. The third part puts forward the corresponding hypothesis by combing the influence mechanism of factor price distortion on the transformation and upgrading of China’s manufacturing industry. The fourth part measures the degree of factor price distortion and manufacturing transformation and upgrading indicators, including the evaluation of measurement methods. This paper uses C-D production function regression method to estimate factor market distortion, and uses three indicators to describe the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry, namely, rationalization of manufacturing structure, advanced manufacturing structure and labor productivity.Characterize the rationalization of the manufacturing structure and define the deviation of manufacturing structure indrs;portray the high-level manufacturing industry, which divides the manufacturing industry into low-end manufacturing,mid-end manufacturing and high-end manufacturing, and uses the industrial added value of different industries. To represent the process of advancedization, and use the table for analysis;portray labor productivity, select the labor productivity of all industrial enterprises above designated size. The fifth part is an empirical analysis.Taking the absolute degree of capital distortion, the degree of absolute distortion of labor and the degree of relative distortion as explanatory variables, the full-scale labor productivity of industrial enterprises above designated size is selected as the explanatory variable, and the model is established, and the system GMM method is used for estimation. In order to make the measurement and evaluation of the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry more complete and accurate, this paper uses the manufacturing structure deviation indrs as the explanatory variable, establishes the model, and performs regression estimation. The sixth part analyzes the theory based on the empirical results, and proposes policy recommendations on how to carry out the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry in the case of distortion of factor prices.Throughout the existing literature, there have been detailed and in-depth studies on the distortions of factor markets and the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industries. However, few people have studied the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industries in the context of distortions in the factor market.Few scholars have combined these two aspects to study their interaction mechanism and to study the factors affecting the transformation and upgrading of China’s manufacturing industry. Therefore, this paper studies the mechanism of action between the two in the context of the distortion of the factor market, and empirically analyzes the relationship between the two.In addition,in the research results of investigating the impact of price distortions on the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industries, most of the existing literatures measure and evaluate manufacturing in terms of the advanced structure of manufacturing structure and the rationalization of manufacturing structure. The transformation and upgrading situation, and all describe the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry from a macro perspective, the analysis is not comprehensive.Based on the macro-level indicators, this paper uses labor productivity to describe the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry from the perspective of micro-enterprises.Therefore,this paper uses the three indicators of manufacturing structure rationalization, advancedization and labor productivity to describe the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry in a more complete way.In addition, most of the previous results in the study of the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry have divided the entire manufacturing industry into capital-intensive industries and labor-intensive industries. This classification method divides the low-end technology industry into labor one-sided.Intensive industries,it is not accurate enough to continue to measure manufacturing transformation and upgrading indicators on this classification method. This paper makes improvements in the classification method, not only pays attention to the differences between the manufacturing industries, but also analyzes the market distortion of the 27 sub-sectors of the manufacturing industry. It also refers to the OECD industry classification method and the manufacturing industry.Divided into three categories, namely low-end manufacturing,mid-end manufacturing and high-end manufacturing, focusing on industry internal industry differences and analyzing the distortion of its factor market.Regarding the shortcomings of this paper, because of the limitation of personal ability and the availability of data, this paper explores the primary and unilateral comparison of the impact of factor price distortion on the transformation and upgrading of China’s manufacturing industry, which is not discussed from more perspectives.Mainly, there is no discussion from the perspective of price distortion of intermediate inputs, and there is no more detailed sub-regional discussion. When the factor price distortion analyzed in this paper does not consider more factors such as industry differences and different industry policies, and these factors have a logical impact on the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry, this paper explores the discussion of factor price distortion on Chinese manufacturing. The impact of transformation and upgrading has some limitations. Moreover, due to the changes in the division of the manufacturing industry in the statistical yearbooks around 2008,this has also affected the author’s in-depth research to some extent.
