China is the largest corn starch processing country after the United States,and has a certain influence in the international market.In recent years,with the popularization of corn starch processing technology and technology,a large number of corn starch processing enterprises have sprung up like mushrooms after a spring rain.The fierce market competition is constantly reducing the profit margin of enterprises.How to reduce costs and increase efficiency has become the key to the success of starch processing enterprises in the competition.Traditional cost management mode only focuses on internal cost compression,but blind cost compression may lead to jerry-building,material reduction,quality decline and other consequences.Under the concept of modern cost management,more and more attention has been paid to the enterprise value chain,from the enterprise internal value chain and external value chain to seek breakthroughs,which has become an important way of modern enterprise cost control.SYN Starch Company,as a leading industrialized enterprise at the provincial level,has a certain influence in the starch processing industry.In recent years,with the continuous expansion of business,business income has increased year by year,but profit margin has continued to decline.The main reason is that the cost is constantly increasing.How to control the cost has become the core problem that the company urgently needs to solve.Through the analysis of SYN starch company's value chain,this paper aims to find out the weak links of company's cost management,provide countermeasures and suggestions for solving the problems existing in company's cost management,and provide reference for other related enterprises to improve their cost management level.This paper takes SYN starch company as the research object,aiming at the problem of high production cost in recent years,guided by the theory of value chain,uses the value chain analysis method to analyze the internal value chain and external value chain of SYN starch company.Firstly,it finds the internal price of SYN starch company by calculating the operating cost value coefficient of each link of the company's internal value chain.The inefficient activities in value chain activities are purchasing,warehousing and production processing.The main reasons are that the supplier management and supervision system is not perfect,the quality control of raw materials is not strict,the life cycle of production equipment is deviated,the utilization rate of information system is low,and the mobility of workers is high.Secondly,through the analysis of external value chain,it is found that the company's customer resources in the external value chain are single and blind.The main reasons for the cost increase are credit policy,one-sided supplier selection criteria,information asymmetry,lack of attention and learning from competitors in the development process,etc.Thirdly,the cost of maize superfine flour and maltodextrin is calculated by activity-based costing method,and compared with the results of traditional cost accounting method of the company.Finally,SYN is used to calculate the cost of maize superfine flour and maltodextrin.The company puts forward corresponding suggestions to reduce costs and improve profit margins.The innovation of this paper lies in the construction of SYN starch company's internal value chain model,the use of activity-based costing value coefficient method to calculate the cost coefficient and value coefficient of various activities in the enterprise's internal value chain,and by calculating the cost value coefficient of each activity,it is found that the inefficient activities in the enterprise's internal value chain are mainly in the procurement,warehousing and processing links.External value chain analysis found out the weakness of the company's cost management.The results of this study apply the value chain theory to SYN starch company cost management,provide an example for starch company to promote the application of activity-based costing management enterprises,provide decision-making basis for solving the problems existing in the company cost management and improving the level of profit margin,and also provide reference for other related enterprises to improve the level of cost management.
