With the rapid development of China’s economy, the problem of environmental pollution has become more and more seriously.Focusing on the immediate economic interests will have a negative impact on the long-term development of the company.General Secretary Xi Jinping established a strong awareness of “Scenery is the gold and silver mines” at the 18 th Party Congress. All provinces and cities have strengthened their confidence in pollution control, energy conservation and emission reduction, and accelerated the speed of environmental protection.Corporate green management behavior plays an important role in the green development of China’s economy.Nowadays, more and more scholars have begun to take green management as the research direction.Foreign studies on green management generally start from the perspective of active and passive adoption of green management behaviors, while Chinese scholars mostly discuss the impact of institutional environment on green management. Therefore, this paper will explore the main factors affecting the green management of enterprises based on the perspective of institutional environment and how the impact of green management behavior on the performance. The article firstly reviews and combs relevant literatures at home and abroad, understands the research directions and research results in the field of corporate green management, and conducts the relationship between the motivation of green management and the relationship between green management and performance.Analysis and summary,we put forward the research hypothesis based on institutional environment theory and social responsible theory. Then, based on the hypothesis,we select the heavily polluting industry enterprises that have been listed in A-shares from 2013 to 2017 as a sample to empirically study the impact of government regulation, industry concentration on green management, and green management how to influence the performance. The empirical results show that:(1)regulation has a positive effect on green management;(2)industry concentration is positively correlated with corporate green management;(3)in non-state-owned enterprises, thepromotion effect of regulation to green management is more obvious;(4)in non-state-owned enterprises, the concentration of industry has a greater positive impact on the green management;(5)the green management of enterprises will reduce their performance; Finally,in view of the above conclusions, this paper argues that the government should increase the support of green management of enterprises,so as to improve the enthusiasm of enterprises to actively adopt green management and form a good influence effect. On the other hand, relevant departments should increase supervision and punishment to avoid environmental pollution.
