Research On The Distribution Mechanism Of Child Support Responsibilities In Rural Multi-child Families

In order to cope with the trend of high-speed aging,China has comprehensively upgraded the social old-age security system and taken various measures to provide security for the elderly in rural areas.However,the burden of care for the elderly is still huge,which can not be completely solved through social old-age security,and family care and support are still needed.China began to control population size,that is,to implement family planning policy since the 1980 s.Before that,more families were multi-child families,that is,families with two or more children.Most of the parents of these families have entered the old age now.At present,the problem of providing for the aged in our country is still mainly that of multi-child families.Existing research pays more attention to only-child families,but less attention to the pension of multi-child families.Unlike the sole responsibility and duty of the only-child family,the problem of supporting the elderly in multi-child families is reflected in the commonality of child support.While sharing the responsibility of child support,it also decentralizes the duty of supporting the elderly to a certain extent.This way of collective responsibility will sometimes become a phenomenon of no support,but also bring about family support disputes.So that the quality of life of the elderly in multi-child families can not be guaranteed in their later years,and even no one cares for them.Based on this,this paper takes the rural multi-child families in northern Henan as the research object,through in-depth visits and observations to the local multi-child families,makes an in-depth analysis of the status quo of the responsibility allocation of multi-child families and the interactive process of the choice of support between children and generations,and has a micro-understanding of the status quo of multi-child families and the strategy of responsibility allocation.The research finds that,firstly,there are many modes of interaction between the main bodies of the responsibility of supporting families with many children in rural areas,and different families have different strategic choices to cope with the current social changes.But it is undeniable that the role of daughter's participation and voice in family support affairs is becoming more and more obvious,which is the buffer zone and potential endowment resources of the rural family.But it also faces various difficulties.The dual-system pension model still has a long way to go.Second,family pension is based on the rational choice of organic unity,and the implementation of filial piety is more diversified.Due to the increasing heterogeneity of children,it is possible for children to compensate for the lack of maintenance responsibility based on economic exchange,and their own resources and prestige play a key role in the allocation of the main body of maintenance responsibility.The power of eldest son endowed with standardized resources is gradually weakened by the resources of social and economic status,thus forming a new model of support for family leaders and mutual assistance and cooperation between children.Thirdly,family support has periodic characteristics,with the elderly's self-care ability as the node of time.On the one hand,when the elderly can take care of themselves,they have relatively many choices.When they can't take care of themselves,they have limited autonomous choices.On the other hand,the different roles of daughters in parental support affairs also take the elderly's self-care ability as the node,and daughters can't take care of themselves in the elderly's life.Participate in more maintenance affairs and responsibilities in a timely manner.Fourthly,the offspring pay more attention to the support of the economic resources of the elderly,while neglecting the spiritual consolation.There are some phenomena such as insufficient attention to the self-subjectivity consciousness and the psychological world of the elderly.In view of the plight of the rural multi-child family support,and how to construct a positive family support model to put forward some suggestions.
