Vietnam become more deeply involved than ever before in the international markets.Particularly as a full member of the World Trade Organization(WTO),and signed the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement(TPP),the Viet Nam-EU Trade Agreement and the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community(AEC)with other economies in the region,Vietnam's Comprehensive strength and international status has been improved and uplifted.This will help Vietnamese enterprises to be treated equally in the competitive markets.After joining the WTO,Vietnamese enterprises found a lot of overseas investment opportunities and helped to change the Vietnamese government's concept of overseas investment.International practice shows that countries with more outward direct foreign investment have more opportunities to expand their markets,increase productivity,use local raw materials,increase employment,and increase incentives to exploit the country's economy while strengthening science and technology,improve the management level and marketing ability.Therefore,there is a need for in-depth research and support policies to promote Vietnamese firms' overseas investment.Domestic relevant motivations of Vietnamese firms ODI is analyzed in the thesis.The research of this thesis is based on the Bonding Hypothesis to find the connection between ODI and the operation of enterprises in the domestic market and adopts the qualitative research method of Grounded Theory.Through interviewing with some Vietnamese multinationals,coding analysis of interview records,finding and analyzing the problems,and finally summed up the three main categories of the domestic relevant motivations of Vietnamese firms ODI,namely "customer trust","business reputation" and “employee attraction and employee loyalty ",then based on this to build “firms' business reputation enhanced and work environment improved” as the core of the domestic motivation system.The results of this thesis are complementary to the existing studies on Vietnamese firms' overseas investment,which can better explain the ODI behavior of Vietnamese enterprises.Finally,based on the theoretical research results,some suggestions on the ODI decision-making of Vietnamese enterprises are provided.
