The Analysis Of The Tfp Growth Rate And Determinants Of China's Internet Industry

Since 1994,the development of the Internet industry in China has made obvious achievements after more than twenty years.The Internet industry has a increasingly important part in maintaining social stability,promoting economic development and prosperity and strengthening the construction of culture.The influence of the development of the Internet industry means a lot for the optimization of economic structure in our country.In recent years,the connotation of China's Internet industry has constantly been enriched,and the industry scope has been widened.The fusion of the Internet industry and other industries contributes to the emergence of a new pattern of industry.The Internet industry has break through the traditional boundaries.We can interpret modern Internet industry from the perspective of production and application service angle,which mainly includes the production of computer equipment,software and Internet application services,etc.In the empirical research,we used the input and output data of 28 main provinces of China's Internet industry from 2005 to 2015 to study TFP growth rate and its decompositions,and the main factors which influence the TFP growth rate of China's Internet industry.To sum up,we mainly studied the following three principal problems of China's Internet industry.Firstly,we defined the Internet,network economy,information industry and China's Internet industry,analyzed the status of China's Internet industry,which helps to make the important strategic position of China's Internet industry in the economic and social development in our country.Secondly,we measured the TFP growth rate and its decomposition of China's Internet industry with Malmquist index based on DEA,and then we used Tobit model to analyze the factors affecting the TFP growth rate and its decompositions.Finally,we summarized the results of the empirical study in this paper,and then we offered some suggestions on strengthening infrastructure construction of internet,improving the ability of independent innovation,promoting regional coordinated development.The results of empirical study show that: First,during 2005 to 2015,China's Internet industry TFP growth rate is positive each year,with an average annual growth rate of 12.5%.Technical efficiency change has become the main growth source of TFP growth rate in China's Internet industry,and its contribution to TFP growth rate of the Internet industry is far greater than the technology change.The TFP growth rate,technology change,technical efficiency change of China's Internet industry in the observation period generally are in a downward trend.Second,from 2005 to 2015,the TFP growth rate of the Internet industry in western area in China topped the list,with 14.5%,followed by the middle area was 12.3%,while the TFP growth rate of the Internet industry in eastern area ranked at the bottom,with 5.6%.The TFP growth rate of the Internet industry in eastern area is mainly supported by technology change and technical efficiency improvement.In the middle and western area,TFP growth rate mainly depends on the technical efficiency change,technological progress is lagging behind.Third,the level of human capital,the input of research and development,the optimization of industrial structure and the deepening opening up will become the main source of power in promoting TFP growth rate of China's Internet industry,government intervention did not show significant influence in TFP growth rate and its decompositions.
