The Research On The Impact Of Diversity Of Perspectives On Team Creativity In App Design Team

Under the wave of mobile Internet,enterprises continue to set up App design teams,relying on the synergies of the team to solve complex dynamic tasks and challenges.Mobile Apps are evolving and replaced at the speed never before for any other IT artifacts due to the nature of voluntary adoption and low cost of switch,which makes team creativity the key to establishing and maintaining the competitive advantage of App.With the emergence and development of virtual teams,the members of the App design team are often distributed in different regions and even all over the world,increasing the team diversity.Team diversity provides teams with knowledge and perspectives from different areas and is closely related to team creativity.However,focusing on the App design team,the research on the relationship between the two is still very sparse.It is urgent to conduct intensive research on the internal mechanism and boundary conditions of the App design team to enhance creativity,thus revealing the "black box" between team diversity and team creativity.Diversity of perspectives represents the degree to which team members differ in the way they judge tasks,which is closely related to a team’s cognitive resources.This paper focuses on this underlying attribute diversity and explores its impact on team creativity.Transactive memory system(TMS)is a shared system formed by team members to centrally encode,store and retrieve information from different fields,which provides an in-depth explanation of the division of labor and knowledge application process of the App design team.This paper explores the role of TMS as a mediator between diversity of perspectives and team creativity.In the communication process of the App design team,the communication media can solve the duality of team diversity and affect the communication performance.Based on Media Synchronicity Theory(MST),this paper selects three media transmission capabilities of parallelism,transmission velocity,and symbol sets,exploring their specific impacts in the process of diverse App design teams stimulating team creativity through communication and cooperation.From the perspective of TMS and media capability,this paper investigates and analyzes the knowledge division of labor and the use of communication media in App design teams,provides inspiration for transforming diversity of perspectives into team creativity.In this paper,through the combination of experiment and survey methods,the valid data of 42 teams was obtained.Through empirical analysis,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The diversity of perspectives has a negative effect on team creativity;(2)TMS plays a partial mediating role between diversity of perspectives and team creativity,and can explain the relationship between diversity of perspectives and team creativity;(3)The parallelism has a positive effect on TMS.The transmission velocity negatively moderates the effect of diversity of perspectives on TMS.The symbol sets positively moderates the effect of TMS on team creativity.
