Xinjiang,located in the northwest of China,is the province with the largest number of bordering countries and longest bordering line.It is the closest region of China which near to important cities in Central Asia and Europe.This province has a unique geographical location.In addition,this region owns abundant water resources,land resources and mineral resources,which are very conducive to the development of the coal industry.Moreover,the development of transportation is impressive,comparing to the other provinces.During the past decades,the number of kilometers operated by railways has doubled.It has a very large economic development potential because of the preferential policies for infrastructure,industrial development and finance.Under the background of economic globalization and the development of the western region,the economic development of Xinjiang has always been a key issue of concern to the government.Due to its special geographical location,numerous bordering countries and complex cultural composition,Xinjiang is an important port for China to develop foreign trade.The “the Belt and Road” treats Xinjiang as a key development platform,which brings opportunities for foreign economic development and open economy construction in Xinjiang.Therefore,in the current context,how should Xinjiang?s foreign trade enterprises adjust the strategic positioning for itself to better utilize the location advantage of the Xinjiang region is a far-reaching research topic.This paper takes xt foreign trade company as the main research object,firstly make sure about the concepts of location advantage and strategic positioning through the research of relevant academic materials.Secondly,through the analysis of statistical data,policy notices and a large number of related literatures,the geographical advantages of Xinjiang are analyzed from four aspects.Then through reviewing the different historical development stages of Xinjiang foreign trade enterprises,and analyzing the existing problems.Finally,it analyzes the situation and current situation of xt foreign Trade Company itself,then combines the location advantage with the current situation of foreign trade environment and the company’s own situation,and finally draws the strategic positioning of xt foreign trade company to develop coal transportation under the background of “the Belt and Road”.This paper focuses on the location advantages of Xinjiang and the actual situation of xt foreign trade companies,analyzes the current foreign trade situation of xt enterprises,and based on this,combined with historical development,studies the strategic positioning of enterprises under the new strategy.It provides a clear direction for the future development of the enterprise,and provides an analytical path for the positioning of the strategic direction,with strong pertinence and practical value.It not only contributes to the development of xt foreign trade companies,but also contributes to the implementation and development of the “the Belt and Road” initiative in Xinjiang.
